WORK, WORK, WORK
September for most is the start of a new fashion season and the start of a new school year. Even though I left university nearly 7 years ago I still get the feeling of preparing and planning for the coming months ahead of hard work. However this time around I'm not investing in textbooks, instead I am starting to plan ahead my work wardrobe for autumn. Having a great work wardrobe can influence how you feel about heading back to work from your summer holiday. I love the quote 'I'm nicer when I like my outfit' as I really do believe this can be true. If you wear pieces to work that you like, this in turn will make you feel good about yourself and ultimately makes you a happier person. It goes along way if you are a nicer person!
This week's wish list outfit is one that I would wear for work. The whole outfit is based on this houndstooth check top from Cos. I saw this top online and fell in love with it as I knew it would be a perfect style for the office, but still having key fashion details like the cut outs at the arm and the structured tie bows for a girly feature. This is a great piece to style up a pair of jeans and heeled boots for an evening. Here I have styled them with some cropped tailored trousers in a key colour for autumn winter. I am not a massive fan of heels in work as I am running in between meetings and around the office so I need a sturdy pair of shoes. So my go to work shoe brand is Dr Martens, they always create slick designs with a tailored edge, that are perfect for work. To finish the whole look off, throw on a leather jacket like this one here and clean style backpack for carrying around my laptop in. A great first day back in the office or university outfit. I would love to know your thoughts on this work wear outfit.
