WES ANDERSON YOUR WARDROBE
Last weekend I took a trip back to Manchester and stayed with friends. They live in a gorgeous house full of memories from festivals, nights out and holidays. One of the items I love is the recreated Mendls box from the film The Grand Budapest Hotel, minus the cake! They too share a love of the Wes Anderson films and this inspired me to research into them further and I found out that not only does he shoot his films with perfect symmetry, he also uses a colour theme for each film. I thought this tied in perfectly with the seventies theme carrying on into the Autumn/Winter season, so I decided to base this weeks wish list around Wes Anderson films.
The items I have picked out I believe could have been worn in any of his films but also shows how cult films and popular culture can influence clothing. The colours in the films are so strong and one colour that stands out and he uses the most is mustard. This is also a key colour for this Autumn/Winter so I have picked out this mustard suede a line skirt from ASOS and teamed it with this black pattern shirt from River Island. Another key colour for this season is the dark green and here I've picked out the cropped pants from Zara and I would wear them with the white cropped bell sleeve top. The leopard print ankle boots finish both outfits of great and simple necklace is a nice finishing touch.
My favourite outfit here and one I will buy into is the denim pinafore, I think Topshop have nailed their denim range perfectly for the coming season. What is so great about this pinafore is that you can dress it down for work by teaming it with a stripe long sleeve top and these lace up peep toe heels and then come night take the stripe top off, taking you from desk to dance floor on a Friday night. Plus I had to add on this beautiful Balenciaga shearling coat which would go with any of these outfits and the suede fringing bag - I love them both! Let me know your thoughts on this weeks wish list.
