THE SQUARE NECK CAMI TOP
Hello and welcome back to a full fashion post with three different looks, featuring the square neck cami top. I’ve felt inspired by a combination of 90’s TV shows & the sunshine from the past week! But first a little life update, we have officially moved back to Manchester this weekend. We are all moved into our new house up North, so you can expect some interesting backdrops of the Northern Quarter and other spots around Manchester. I feel like the city has changed so much since we left nearly four years ago, so I’m very excited to go explore the new places to eat, drink and shop in Manchester. This means this is my last outfit post from South London. I do have a few more looks to post from London as I’m still down for another two weeks working. But I have left Joe and Bernard building furniture and unboxing loads of stuff until I return in two weeks. Very, very excited to be back t’up north.
Anyway let’s get into this hefty post all about the square neckline. So I've been rewatching Sex and The City back to back and watching Friends having my tea. After all this telly watching I’ve felt the influence of 90’s fashion. Both Carrie’s and Rachel’s fashion sense in both series has really resonated and inspired a lot of girls for this coming season. I’ve already seen how much 90’s fashion has influenced bloggers like Lizzie Hadfield and Monkhi in their looks. With all that in mind I have put together three different looks featuring my favourite 90’s top, the square neck cami.
CAMI TOP NO.1
The weather has had such a positive affect on my mood so all these looks are styled for a summer’s day. Starting with this multicoloured spotty two-piece set. The rainbow trend has been huge, but it’s a trend I have admired from afar until I saw this rainbow polka dot print. This print is a subtle way of incorporating the rainbow trend into my looks, without it over powering my whole look. Another reason I picked out a set is because you have two great pieces you can wear together for one look and two pieces which you can pair with other items in my wardrobe. It is such a versatile outfit that is perfect for work in the day and drinks in the evening.
CAMI TOP NO. 2
My second look was created for a night out when I’m back in Manchester. I dig out my velvet heels from last season to pair with these linen summer trousers and this leopard print cami. Leopard is another big trend for this summer. I do love myself some leopard print every now and then. If the print is on the right item of clothing it can look amazing and I always love to style it against denim or like here with black trousers for the perfect night time look.
CAMI TOP NO.3
My final look is so Rachel with the vintage Levi’s and so 90’s with the thin cat eye sunglasses. This look is my favourite outfit, because of how effortless the styling is. Nothing beats jeans and a nice top for me, no matter how much I wear other looks. I will always gravitate to my denim collection for a fail-safe jeans styled outfit.
All these items apart from a few pieces I’ve had a while are from Topshop. I wasn’t sponsored by them, I just happen to love their square neck cami’s that much. Let me know if you have been inspired by 90’s fashion?
