THE RUFFLE SHIRT
The feeling of confidence and comfort when you put on an outfit, stepping out knowing you have put together a look, makes you feel good about yourself on the inside and out. This outfit has done just that for me! With looks like this, it is all about knowing your body shape and working to it's advantages. For an hourglass shape like myself, I now know that high waisted jeans suit my figure and cliche me in at my skinniest part of my body. Also, mom jeans have a straight leg finish, which balances out my hips. I find skinny jeans make me look wider at the hips and even top heavy, which is never good for a short person like myself!
As you guys know I am loving mixing trends and styles at the moment and I have done that here by teaming this smartly tailored ruffle shirt with a pair of indigo denim jeans. I'll be honest when I first picked this shirt out I thought it was a little crazy but I just loved how soft the fabric was and yet it had some great structure to the ruffles. I originally I thought about another outfit for this ruffle top, teaming with a velvet slip dress but it wasn't for me. This top has a lot of mileage in it and I know I will be wearing it loads this season. To bring the whole look together I have worn my burgundy sock boots from Public Desire. These are my favourite boots for this season and I would definitely recommend owning a pair. I also have to talk about this crushed velvet bomber from Pull and Bear. The jacket is a perfect shade of deep navy and sits perfectly against any pair of jeans but looks so good against indigo coloured jeans. On the whole, this ruffle shirt look is one of favourite I have put together on the blog. Please let me know your thoughts on this look and if you would love to see more like this?
