Wedding season is upon us and me & my boyfriend have already been to two so far this year. I love a good wedding and it's always a great time to see family and old friends. Everyone is in high spirits plus the bonus is you get to dress fancy for a whole day. Finding a dress that reflects your style and looks right for an event like a wedding can be difficult. I struggle with occasion dressing for weddings as my style is very laid back and has a casual vibe to it. Basically I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, also at the moment I am loving a mixture between leather, denim and band tees. Unfortunately none of those can be worn for a wedding unless its been requested!

So in this post I wanted to show you guys different types of dresses that are great for formal occasions, but without compromising on your edgy style. First lets talk about the dress I have on. This Topshop dress saved the day for me, I had bought so many midi lose fitting cami dresses thinking they would suit my shape. I could not have been more wrong, as I have a slim waist I need the dress to pinch in at my waist to show off my hourglass shape. This dress is great for showing this off as the fabric is quite structured and gives the illusion of an hourglass silhouette. Plus this dress is great for showing off your boobs but without going too far. A subtle v neck that doesn't go too low so you can wear a bra with it. Here I have worn some block heels that are elastic at the front, these heels are so comfy and don't ever rub your feet. To finish this look this metallic silver shoulder bag that turns into a clutch. Getting more for your money with a versatile bag like this one.

This dress has gone down in the sale so hopefully it is still on the website, but if not I have put together a collection of dresses from the high street that has the occasion wear look but with an edge to the style. Let me know what you look for in formal look and how you keep it in with your style? Also let me know what you think of the Topshop dress?
