Happy Sunday guys! Hope you are having a great weekend. I have had a chilled one so far, enjoying the sunshine along Broadway Market and eating out at another amazing Turkish resturant my boyfriend sourced from his research on Trip Advisor. I highly recommend Gokyuzu in London, it is the best Turkish food we have ever eaten!
Anyway back to this weeks wish list, I wanted to focus this week on raw edge finishes in particular raw edge denim. Since spotting the raw edge denim jacket in Topshop (which I have to show you guys in an outfit post later this week) I have kept noticing frayed edges and raw finishes of all kinds on different fabrics. I wanted to keep it just to denim as I feel denim is having a moment, with some strong pieces out on the high street and designer. I have picked up the Topshop raw edge denim jacket but here I have found another version by Waven. This piece looks so directional and updates any outfit you wear with it. I love the oversized look and the collarless detail. If you are not a fan of the collarless look but like the raw edge denim jacket vibe, Zara have this cream denim version in store. I love the fact that Zara have done this style in an off white and not an optic white, it gives the jacket a vintage worn look.
One piece I picked out that is super cute and very easy to wear, if frayed edges isn't quite your thing, is this tank by Kendall and Kylie. Techinally this piece isn't denim but is very structured and is in a very sultbe nude colour. A great piece you could wear with this top is the denim A-line raw edge skirt from Urban Outfitters. This is a great item of clothing as it covers two trends in one, with the denim raw edge and the utility pocket details for the safari trend. Another piece I have picked out are these wide leg cropped jeans by Citizens of Humanity. These totally take me back to the late nineties skater boy look, with the oversized legs. Plus in this dark denim wash they couldnt be more 90's if they tried! To give a more current twist on a look with these jeans I would wear them with the black and white stripe sandals by Miista.
Another cute style that is doing two trends in one is this denim midi dress with the cold shoulder. I think this is such a beautiful little dress for summer and worn with the espadrilles and a tan would look stunning. One key piece I think is staple for your high summer wardrobe is denim shorts. In this case I have picked out these dark denim wash shorts, with an exaggerated raw edge. Perfect for festivals and holidays, team with these espadrille sandals for a high summer look or for an edgey vibe the white Dr Marten's loafers.
Let me know your thoughts on this trend and any items you love from the wish list.
