Happy Sunday guys! Hope you are having a wonderful bank holiday break. This bank holiday, I've taken the time to relax and spend time with my little pup pup Bernard, oh and Joe! But it's been so nice to chill, go to the gym and eat lots of yummy food and we have one more day before going back to work!

In this post I wanted to talk about taking risks, to push yourself within your own style. This season has only just started but already I feel like I am pushing my own fashion boundaries. I believe this is down to a mixture of putting down my blog keys ideas for the month ahead, marking down what areas that have inspired me from Pinterest and what other bloggers are doing. Writing down and making note of what inspires me has helped me identify key trends which I want to include within my style, instead of just randomly shopping.

The second key factor which has helped push my fashion boundaries is what the high street has to offer this season. This spring summer you can already see lots of colour mixing and the use of luxe fabrics with decorating patterns to create fun pieces. Spring summer is all about having fun and I am already interpreting these trends by using a pop of colour within my accessories like shoes and bags. I will aways be a denim lover so using colour against denim for summer is a great way to break into the colour trend. But for this post, I really wanted to bring a totally different look and really push myself with colour and style.

Starting right here with this eighties inspired dress from Topshop. I was kindly asked by Topshop to style up a piece from their new dress collection so I picked out this midi dress. The revival of eighties trends was heavily featured across the catwalk for spring summer and Topshop has interpreted this trend beautifully here with this jacquard knot front midi dress. After trying this dress on, I instantly fell in love with the drape of the fabric, the kimono style sleeves came to a comfortable length on my arms and the nice, simple knot detail at the front. This is the kind of dress I would wear to a special occasion.

For my own spin on the pink and red trend, I've teamed this pink dress with these red ruffle mules, for an ultimate eighties revival look. For finishing touches, I went with these oversized round sunglasses and my faithful silver metallic bag, which I am actually on the hunt for an update for summer as this one has been such a great piece!

Below I have picked out some of the other dresses from the Topshop dress collection which I am loving. I would love to know your thoughts on this look and if you love any of the other dresses I've picked out.
