Over the past couple of years I have stripped back my style and taken out the on-trend pieces that didn't work for me, then added in key staple basics to create a wardrobe I can team any two pieces together. Now I feel I have a clear collection of clothes that I love, I want to slowly start adding in metallic touches to my clothing, accessories and shoes to my wardrobe. Being a true magpie at heart, I am always drawn to anything that shimmers in the light especially when shopping. My inner magpie takes over and I seem to gravitate to anything that is shiny or shimmery. The metallic touches are a great way to break up your outfit and add a little sparkle to your look. My silver bag by Loeffler Randall has done exactly that. The silver metallic tone of the bag is amazing and has gone with everything I have styled it with. I know you guys have seen it featured many times on the blog but I am loving these touches so much that I feel this coming season I am going to invest in more shimmery items.
I have started this here with this two-tone pleated top from Zara. When I first saw this top it reminded me of the eighties look that has come through on the catwalk with the thanks to Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent. One of my favourite features of this top is the pleated ruffle detail to the sleeves. Here I have styled it with my trusty Topshop mom jeans and my lace up sandals, an easy look that I would wear taking me from day to night. I really feel this shimmery top would go with my leather skirt and some silver boots. Ready for the party season! Let me know your thoughts on the outfit.
