Band tees are all about having fun, taking you back to a memory you have of a song or a particular point in time. If you read my blog regularly or follow me on Pinterest you will know how much I love band tees. I don’t always follow every band that I wear religiously but I did grow up listening to my dad's vinyl collection, which featured bands like Black Sabbath and The Clash. Inspired by my dad's taste in music I always get drawn to any band tee with more of a worn look the better. The Iron Maiden t-shirt I own is so worn looking now but I have more love for it now than ever. I am teaming it here with my shimmer pleated shorts and love how a band tee gives any outfit the edge.
The outfit here is based around this Black Sabbath band t-shirt I have purchased from the reclaimed vintage section on ASOS. When I saw it online, the model had been styled in a grunge look with black lipstick and choker which wouldn't suit my style. To make the t-shirt work for me I have styled it with a pair of mom jeans and these stunning oxblood red sock boots. This is a great weekend outfit for brunching on a Sunday.
The grunge trend was a key look from the autumn winter catwalks and even though I won't be featuring it in full, I love adding grunge elements to my outfits. So expect to see more band tees and lace details styled with suit trousers and jeans.
