I've had such a fun couple of days at London Fashion Week. I think I definitely made the most of living in the city for visiting all the shows. I made the decision to attend the Fashion Scout shows to see the emerging talent that has graduated this year. There were some really cool collections from the likes of Swedish School of Textiles, House of Mia and from the 'ones to watch' list. It feels so much more exciting to see an emerging designers first collection and then following them and watching them grow each season. It's always exciting to see what experimental collections the designers come up with.
It might not be for everyone but for me it's where you see the raw talent before the clothing and styling becomes more focused down a certain pathway. The way these fresh designers use colour and fabric is like nothing else, they have no boundaries and create pieces that are more like art than clothing. These shows are worth seeing if you interested in fashion design or styling, to see from the bottom up and help support new designers. It's also worth noting a lot of these shows are free to attend and it just takes sending a polite email requesting tickets!
I would recommend going to see some of these shows as well as the full fashion week stuff. I have included at the bottom some images of the key designers you should look out for.
Fashion week is full on and you get out of it what you put in. Its still funny how excited I get when I see a look that inspires me, but as much as I love fashion there is nothing better than coming home, putting my feet up and snuggling with my frenchie Bernard.
I would love to know your thoughts on fashion week and how you approach London Fashion Week.
