Hello from a very cold Northerner, trying to stay as warm as possible in January. Not that I like to wish away days or months, but I am done with January! I am so over this dull, wet month and ready for February. Even though February will still be cold, at least it will be lighter, brighter and a step closer to spring. The saving grace in these cold dark months is putting my focus onto the healthy living with morning gym routines and clean eating. I feel loads better in myself but by the end of the day all I want to do is curl up into a ball and climb back into bed. I am not even kidding you that last weekend the only times me and Joe left our flat was to go the gym or buy food for tea. The funny thing is speaking to friends about what we have done and they say they have done exactly the same thing, which makes you feel a little better for being a total hermit.
In these gloomy months, I have taken to covering every inch of my body with clothing. Taking on different textures to create my own take on layering up to keep me warm and toasted. Here I have put together simple basic pieces, such as the long sleeve ribbed top with these flared trousers. To add a point of difference I've added this structured denim style from the ASOS white range. I think the layering trend is a great way to experiment with pieces you already have in your wardrobe to create fun looks like this one. With an outfit like this, it is easy to achieve a stylish look while keeping warm in the winter months. Gone are the days of going out with little to no clothes on - give me long sleeves and a big coat any day! I would love to know your thoughts on this look and the layering trend? Or are you finding January a drag to get through?
