HIGH-END V HIGH STREET WISHLIST #4
I have been so inspired by the layering trend for this season. Mixing different trends together, taking casual items and dressing them up. I feel like this season my own fashion style is in its element. So for this weeks outfit comparison I have taken both smart and casual pieces and created another autumnal look.
For the high end outfit I have picked out these houndstooth smart trousers and teamed them with this split elbow knitted ribbed sweater. With a simple look like this I have placed these colour blocking ankle boots for a statement finish to the look. For a finishing touch I have added this cross the body black bag and this parka/puffer jacket; creating an outfit with a mix of smart casual.
For the high street version of this smart casual look, I have gone with Mango, who this week have really come good with their choice of clothing. I ended up picking out these houndstooth crop trousers as an alternative to the Incotex ones. For a cheap alternative to the split ribbed fitted top I found a version on the Whistles website but instead of slits at the elbow they had a cold shoulder. Cutouts at the shoulders still remain key for this season, carrying through from spring/summer. The high street version on the colour blocking boots was quite hard to find in the same colours but I did find these ones from Zara. These would actually be a lot easy to wear compared with the high-end versions. Fendi has made such iconic bags that it would be hard to find a replica on the highs street, the closest I found was this suede croc bag from ASOS. It is a similar size and has both options of across the body and wearing as a tote. The final comparison was this version of the Fabiana Filippi parka jacket by Mango. This is pretty much the same as the high-end version just slightly longer in the length and less fitted but still has the dark navy colouring and beautiful blue faux fur detail on the hood.
Let me know your thoughts on both outfits and which one you prefer?
