DAVID BOWIE STYLE ICON
This week has been a sad week for celebrities passing on, and one guy that has influenced and inspired so many generations from his fashion to more importantly his music is David Bowie. He is a tribute to the British music industry and the fact he was still creating music this year whilst he was ill is a testament to his talent. For this weeks wish list post I wanted to dedicate it to Bowie, as the past couple of catwalk seasons Bowie has inspired designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Dior collections with his self-invention. He was a master of reinventing himself and setting trends before anyone else did. As a fashion icon Bowie could create such a buzz about where he was going to take his next look and one of his most fashion alter-ego's was Ziggy Stardust with the iconic image of flamed red hair and lightening bolt make-up, this has inspired this wish list.
I have created two looks that are influenced by the seventies and Bowie but are creating a more modern look for today. The first outfit is a ripped band tee with Bowie's Ziggy Stardust across the front, teaming that with some metallic shorts and silver glitter boots in the seventies style. To finish this look off a fringed suede jacket and silver choker necklace, a quartz pendant and a moon rising ring. The second outfit is more a day look with this gorgeous burnt orange suit from ASOS. I have teamed this with a sleeveless knitted jumper and some eyelet embellished boots. Again accesorising with silver jewellery. Please let me know what you think of the outfits, and if you too felt the loss of David Bowie.
