BLUE DOT FESTIVAL AND MORE . . .
Hello and happy Saturday guys. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! If you are reading this Saturday, I will be competing in my first ever Crossfit competition. I have been so nervous all week for it but the thing that has kept me going is that it’s good to challenge yourself.. So wish me luck and check out my stories to see how me and my workout partner did.
Anyway back to this blog post and some exciting news to announce. I will be attending Blue Dot Festival this year. I am so excited to be able to go to this festival. In the past, friends of mine and Joe’s have attended Blue Dot and said how great this festival was. It’s a real mixture of music, science and arts all in one little festival at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire. This year I have kindly been gifted tickets for the whole weekend, its such an amazing opportunity and one I am very thankful for!
This years line-up looks even better than previous years. I am looking forward to seeing Jon Hopkins & Hot Chip on the Friday night and going to the talk by Helen Sharman, discussing her experience being the first British astronaut in space on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. It will be a really fascinating talk and one I’m looking forward to as I love all things space and astronomy. For the Saturday it’s all about Jarvis Cocker as I’ve never had the chance to see him live, really looking to seeing what he’s like as performer on stage. As for the science talks Jeff Forshaw talks about our Quantum Universe and explaining all about Quantum Physics.. Now I never thought I would write that in a blog post, plus I know most of it will go over the top of my head but I think it will be really interesting at the same time! The Sunday is all about La Discotheque on the Orbit stage, with a glitter fuelled party to end the weekend on.
I really enjoy just bouncing around at festivals, going from stage to stage to see who’s playing. I know at some point through the weekend we will end up in a comedy tent watching someone we never heard of before and end up loving them. That’s the best thing about festivals.
Of course, no festival would be complete with a beaut wardrobe to attend with. Here is my first look for festival fashion. As I’m lucky enough to be attending three festivals this season, you will be seeing more festival inspired looks from me.
This lurex knitted jumpsuit is perfect for any festival as its so comfy to walk around in, which is my number one thing for festival fashion. The only thing with a jumpsuit or a playsuit at a festival is getting naked to go to the loo, but I think you can get over that if it’s super comfy. I’ve also put together some other festival wishlist items that I really want for this summer season, including a bucket hat!
