Occasion wear is something I really struggle with, it's an area of my wardrobe I don't really enjoy putting together. Weddings especially, freak me out. I am not designed to feel comfortable in formal clothing. Instead I would rather wear jeans and a nice top, perfectly dressed up enough for me. But as I am challenging myself to wear different things, I decided to apply this to a wedding outfit and pick something totally different to what I've ever worn before. Enter this lace number!
Let's start with my inspiration, this season saw so many gorgeous full length gown dresses walk down the catwalk. From Dior to Chanel it seems like everyone wanted a piece of the action. One designer that always catches my eye is Self Portrait. They always make such stunning lace pieces that I am always spooning over. So being inspired by all this I knew instantly I wanted a ball gown inspired dress for this black tie wedding I was attending.
This particular dress ticks all the boxes I am looking for in a stand out party piece. The colour of the season red, into this beautiful lace midi length strappy dress the perfect black tie dress. Here I've gone for simple jewellery details with a v neck rose gold chain necklace and black sandals and velvet bag. I honestly felt like a princess and at a fraction of the price. This gorgeous piece was by a brand called Cari's Closet, they have a great selection of party pieces for the festive season. I'll leave details below of some other beautiful pieces they have made. Anyway I would love to know your thoughts on this look?
